Chester County Library is joining SCLENDS, a consortium of 16 county library systems within the state. SCLENDS will increase our patrons’ access to materials from approximately 93,000 volumes to over 2.5 million volumes. Your library card will give you access to over 53 locations across the state.
As Chester County Library prepares to go live SCLENDS June 1, 2012, our patrons will be affected by several changes. During preparations for migration to this consortium we will be moving to the open source library automation software called Evergreen. This will allow us to move funds from licensing software to providing services. There will be several interruptions to normal services during this adjustment time. Please be patient during this time of improving services for Chester County. The functions affected are as follows:
May 8, 2012: No consortium holds can be made after this date until June 2nd.
May 22, 2012: All Libraries closed – staff training and computer software migration.
June 1st: Overdue notices will not be mailed. Patrons will only be notified by email or text.
