Community Helpers Day, June 12, 2012
As part of our summer programs for children and families, the Lewisville Library held a Community Helpers Day on Tuesday, June 12th. Mr. Agee and Eric Hudson brought the big yellow truck from the Richburg Fire and Rescue Department to the library, and talked wih the children about fire prevention and safety. Everyone got to try on the fire fighters’ gear, sit in the fire truck, and sound the siren! Next, Deputy Kito Crank from the Chester County Sheriffs Department spoke with the children about what it means to be a law enforcement officer and some of the duties of the job. We even got to see his tazer gun! Big thanks to the community helpers who gave their time for this event. A good time was had by all.
